Money continues to come in after the Friends of Renton School Foundation’s third annual fundraising day, which kicked off with a breakfast on April 30.
“The number keeps growing. People are still handing in checks and donating through the website,” said Foundation Chair Pam Teal.
As of Thursday, the nonprofit had received nearly $200,000, Teal said.
“For three years in a row, the community has given close to $200,000 each year,” she said. “That’s huge.”
The Foundation supports the reading programs in the elementary schools, math programs in the middle schools and a “Getting to Graduation” program in the high schools.
About 300 people attended the breakfast. School supporters may donate to the Foundation anytime through its website www.friendsofrentonschools.org.
