School Bond Ballots Due Today, April 17. Voters who need assistance can vote in person at the King County Elections Office in Renton.

 

is Tuesday April 17. This is the same construction bond required a "supermajority" vote that failed by a small margin in during the February 14 election.

More than 58 percent of voters were in favor of measure, but missed reaching the mandatory 60 percent supermajority mark by two percentage points. Two other measures — levies to fund classroom support and technology — passed with more than 60 percent of voter approval.

If approved, the measure would "support the growning number of students in the Renton School District by creating a new middle school, and refurbishing existing schools. The bond would also support the Lindbergh Pool," according to the District.

Ballots are due to the county, or need to be postmarked by April 17. There are 11 drop boxes in King County, including one located in Renton at the King County Elections Office. The deadline to use a drop box is 8 p.m. on Election Day, April 17. 

King County has an all mail-in ballot, although voters with disabilities may vote in person at the in Renton from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Accessible voting units offer lap paddles and sip-and-puff devices, as well as audio, and large and high-contrast text options. All voters can use the accessible voting centers, though identification and signature will be required to vote in person.
