Renton Police have contacted Comcast and confirmed that the suspects are making bogus claims, and do not work for Comcast.  All installations and repairs are occur by scheduled appointments, and Comcast will call the customer directly to set up an appointment.  Comcast does not practice door-to-door solicitation.

Scams are not restricted to phone and internet providers. The Renton Police advise anyone contacted by a business to confirm the legitimacy of the service by calling the company directly. In addition, do not give out personal information to an unconfirmed source.

If you see people wearing “Comcast” uniforms on your Renton property and have not scheduled an appointment, please call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.
