Renton's Planning Department received a nod from Renton Mayor Denis Law and members of the City Council this week with a proclamation designating October as "Community Planning Month."
"We recognize the many valuable contributions made by the professional community planners of the City of Renton and extend our heartfelt thanks to the continued committment to public service by these professionals," read part of the proclamation.
Renton citizens also play a large role in community planning according to the document.
Community Planning is also regonized on a national level throughout the month of October.
