Skyway Fire, Renton Fire and Emergency Services Rescue Man Who Fell From Guardrail

Renton Fire called for a low-angle rope rescue early this morning.

Renton Fire and Emergency Services assisted Skyway Fire with a low-angle rope rescue early this morning after a man reportedly fell over a guardrail along Monster Road near Martin Luther King Junior Way.

Responders are unclear of the circumstances that led to the man's fall. The man called for help just after 4:30 a.m. and reported that he'd fallen near the 12900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Skyway Fire and King County Sheriffs Office searched for 45 minutes before locating the man along Monster Rd, approximately seven blocks from where he said he'd fallen.

Renton's Ladder truck assisted with a low-angle rope rescue, and the man was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to a statement from Skyway Fire.
