Renton Woman Shoots, Injures Federal Way Man During Domestic Dispute in Renton Highlands

The suspect and the victim have a history of domestic violence disputes and there is a court-ordered protection order between the two.

A 20-year-old Renton woman is in custody after a shooting in the Renton Highlands that left a 28-year-old Federal Way man with injuries "from what appeared to be gunshot wounds," according to a statement from the Renton Police Department.

The shooting occurred this evening, Wednesday, May 25 just before 8 p.m. in the 4400 block of NE 12th Street.

Renton Police found the victim, who was bleeding but still conscious, after responding to reports of gunshots in the area. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The severity of his injuries are unknown.

The suspect was located and arrested for Felony Investigation of Assault.

This was not a random act of violence. According to the police, the suspect and the victim have a history of domestic violence disputes and there is a court-ordered protection order between the two.
