Police Seek Byron Brooks of Renton, Believed to be Armed and Dangerous

Brooks has a criminal history of violent crimes.

Renton Police are in search of Byron Brooks, a Renton man with a lengthy criminal history. Authorities believe he is "armed and dangerous."

On Friday morning, police responded to a domestic assault report at an apartment in the 500 block of Stevens Ave. Southeast. 

The 36-year-old suspect reportedly punched his girlfriend in the chest. The couple's argument continued outside, where Brooks fired a single gunshot. The direction of the shot has not been released.

SWAT also responded to the apartment complex and entered the unit where Brooks was believed to have been hiding; however, he was not inside.

Brooks was last seen in Kent, according to a police statement. He is likely driving a white 1992 Ford Thunderbird with a Washington state license plate, 120YEQ. Brooks stands 5-feet, 6-inches tall, weighs 195 pounds and has black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He was last seen wearing gray shorts, a red and black T-shirt, and a black baseball hat.

Police ask anyone with information to call 911 and reference the Renton Police Department case 11-3982. Brooks' past criminal history includes convictions for violent crimes.
