Another domestic dispute ended with critical injuries Monday evening.
Skyway Fire, Tukwila Fire and King County Medic One responded to a report of a car versus pedestrian accident in the 12900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, near the intersection with 129th Street at 6:27 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a 44-year-old Seattle woman in the roadway and a distraught driver who was unable to stop before hitting the victim, who was allegedly pushed into oncoming traffic.
Thomas Hayes witnessed the horrific accident.
"A man and woman were walking along the road eastbound when the man pushed the female into the roadway where she was struck by a car," he said in a statement to the Washington State Patrol. “The man stand around for a few minutes, but then fled eastbound toward a mobile home park."
The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition. Martin Luther King Jr Way/State Route 900 at S 129th Street remained closed in the eastbound direction for several hours while the Washington State Patrol investigated.
Police say the driver will not face charges. She was traveling at about 30 mph when the collision occurred.
