Accident Snarls Afternoon Traffic On Rainier Ave. Near Grady Way

A four car accident on Rainier Ave. S. near the intersection of SW Grady Way slowed traffic in the area shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A four-car collision on Rainier Avenue South sent four people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after one car attempted to avoid rear-ending another in the northbound left-hand turn lane toward SW Grady Way.

Instead, the car sideswiped another headed in the opposite direction toward 167 South and hit a second car head on. The car involved in the head-on collision was then rear-ended by another driver.

Of the seven people involved in the accident, four were sent to the hospital, including one who required a minor extrication for their car, said Renton Fire and Emergency Services Battalion Chief Lohn Lecoq.
