Two Fires Hit Renton In One Weeks' Time

Firefighters respond to apartment, house fires last week.

No one was injured in an apartment fire this weekend at 17305 121 Lane SE, according to an official with Renton Fire and Emergency Services.

The call came in at 2:44 p.m., on Sunday, March 12, and the first engine arrived at the complex six minutes later to find black smoke coming from the back of the building.

The fire appeared to start on the outside, and extended from the first floor, past the second floor, and up to the third floor apartments.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze before it spread to the inside of the building. The incident is currently under investigation by Renton Fire.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday March 8, Renton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house fire at 18839 132 Place SE. The call came in just after 6:30 a.m. Kent Fire Department and King County Medic One also responded.

Although the house was occupied when the fire started, everyone was able to get out safely.

Firefighters arrived seven minutes after being dispatched to find smoke and flames coming from the garage. The blaze was extinguished in 30 minutes.

Cause of the fire is under investigation by King County Fire Investigators, according to officials.
