REMINDER: Cash Mob At Old Renton Book Exchange Is Tuesday

A monthly cash Mob, aimed at supporting downtown Renton businesses, kicks off Sept. 18, 2012.

Renton resident Emily Harris Griffin is on a mission to keep energy up in downtown core through what she calls a "Pay it Forward" cash mob.

Tuesday, September 18 will mark the innaugural event where shoppers will gather at The Met from 5-5:30 p.m. before walking to the Old Renton Book Exchange for the cash mob at 5:45 p.m.

Each month the ‘mobbed’ business will get to choose the next staging area and featured business.

Following this month's cash mob, Patch will announce the next business up for the monthly "Pay it Forward" cash mob.

In an effort to rally support for the event, Harris created a "Renton Cash Mob" group on Facebook. The group already has 102 fans, and the event's Facebook event page has nearly 30 RSVPs. There's still time to RSVP by clicking here.

Since Dacia Hanson opened the Old Renton Book Exchange on 227 Wells Avenue South in March 2012 she's build a book-lover's utopia with 40,000 titles in stock.
