Following months of anticipation, Potbelly Sandwich Shop will officially open its doors at The Landing in Renton, Jan. 22.
Renton’s newest business promises to become a “lively neighborhood hangout,” said spokesperson Amber Hensley.
Keith Prokop will take the reins as general manager. Prokop comes to Renton after working as the assistant manager at the Redmond location.
“I am very excited to be lighting the Potbelly stove in Renton,” said Prokop. “Potbelly is not just another sandwich shop. It has great character and those who follow us keep returning because of our great food, the cool atmosphere and the positive energy our teams bring every day!”
The new shop will partner with the Renton High School Athletic Department during an “Oven Warming Party,” Jan. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5to 7 p.m., to raise funds for prep sports.
The community is invited to the party where a $5 cash donation is good for an Original Sandwich, bag of chips and fountain drink. The proceeds will be donated to support the school’s athletic department.
“We are excited to partner with the Renton High School Athletic Department and build a long lasting relationship with the school and its students and families,” said Prokop. “The partnership introduces the Renton High School to its neighborhood Potbelly Sandwich Shop and we look forward to working with the organization further, including future employment opportunities for students, fundraisers and many new Potbelly fans!”
Known for its good vibes in addition to great sandwiches, live music has been a part of the Potbelly experience since the first shop opened in 1977. Neighborhood musicians put a little rhythm into lunch by performing live at Potbelly Sandwich Shops around the country. Musicians interested in performing at the new Renton Potbelly should contact shop manager Keith Prokop.
This is the first Potbelly Sandwich Shop to open in Renton. The location is located at 727 N. 10th Pl. and will be open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The shop will offer delivery to the Renton area within a few weeks of its opening.
