Update: Lane Restrictions Lifted on SE 128th Street/Cemetery Road After Heat Buckled Section Over Weekend

Drivers are asked to expect periodic delays until repairs can be made, King County Roads reported.

Temporary repairs to a portion of SE. 128th St. (AKA Cemetery Rd.) between 164th Ave. SE and 168th Ave. SE. near Renton have been completed, according to King County Roads Tuesday.  

The repair means road restrictions are no longer in effect. More permanent repairs will be scheduled at a later date. Sunday's unusually high temperatures caused two concrete panels to buckle, causing two lanes of SE 128th St. to be closed.

Heat buckled a portion of SE 128th St. (a.k.a. Cemetery Rd.), which has been reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction between 164th Ave. SE and 168th Ave. SE. near the Renton city limits, according to the King County Roads department.

Temperatures in Renton hit 91 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The roads department reported that unusually high temperatures caused two concrete panels to buckle on Sunday afternoon. Drivers are asked to expect periodic delays until repairs can be made, King County Roads reported.
