Originally built in 1968, Hazen High School underwent an extensive remodeling process from 2000 through 2005. DuringMore that time the old landmark smokestack was removed and the much-anticipated auditorium as built. The school is named in honor of Oliver M. Hazen, who served as the Renton School District superintendent from 1936 to 1966. The school offers a variety of seasonal sports teams throughout the year.

Harambee is located in the heart of old downtown Renton. It is a multi-use space for people of all ages. The center isMore open for middle school and high school students to explore academics, athletics and the arts. Students may use the center as a quiet study space, a social hub and as a starting point for a passion in arts, music or sports. Aside from academics, Harambee is also an all-ages music and open mic venue in the evenings. On Saturdays, the space serves as a homeless resource center for those less fortunate to rest and recharge.
