Hazen, who served as the Renton School District superintendent from 1936 to 1966. The school offers a variety of seasonal sports teams throughout the year.

Communities in Schools (CIS) of Renton has been serving Renton students and their families since 1994. CIS-RentonMore connects students and their families with needed community resources, such as food or clothing, providing systemic support and balance to the lives of students so they come to school ready to learn, focus on staying in school and experience academic success.

CIS-Renton provides customized services for thousands of Renton students and their families every year through its Mentor Program, Family Liaison Program and Academic Liaison Program, and Step Up Mentoring Program. The program is in place in every school in the Renton School District. Volunteer mentors are always needed; contact the organization to discuss the program.
