Renton Technical College began as a war production school and continued as such through World War II. After the war,More the college switched to a state-funded vocational school to assist industry with the changing economy, from war-time to peace-time. The college moved to a central campus in 1965. Currently the college is governed by the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. Students may earn two-year, sub-baccalaureate degrees and certificates of completion through the college including 36 preparatory program degrees and 80 program certificates.

The school is accredited by the Washington State Board of Education, the Northwest Accreditation Commission and the Western Catholic Education Association. Students are offered extra-curricular activities such as student leadership, CYO sports, Performing Arts program, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies and other enrichment activities and clubs. A staff of 30 certified teachers educate children from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Lindbergh Pool

The Lindbergh Pool is a public pool that is owned and operated by the Renton School District, but is available for useMore by all residents of Renton. The complex is comprised of a shallow pool that is 4.5’ deep and 35’ x 42’ and a six-lane lap pool that is 4.5’ to 11’ deep and 25 yards long. Both pools are heated to eighty-five degrees. There are stairs, ladders and a hydraulic lift to help swimmers in and out of the pool. The pool is used for group and private swimming lessons, open swim, water exercise classes, lap swimming, diving, competitive lessons and high school swim team use. There is also a water slide, a diving board, a rope swing and a water walkway. The pool is available to rent for all types of private parties and events.
