Rain Whets Renton's Appetite For 11th Annual Farmers Market

More than 60 vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods and flowers at the Downtown Renton Farmers Market.

A heavy dose of rain did little to dampen excitement over the 11th annual Downtown Renton Farmers Market; however, it did wash away nearly all the yellow chalk markings for vendor booths by the time setup got underway.

Farmers Market die-hards — including Mrs. Renton, a number of City Council Members and a host of volunteers — found cover under the central tented seating area and park trees while Renton Mayor Denis Law and Community Affairs Director Suzanne Thompson ushered in the market season with the traditional ringing of the cow bell.
