The Build-a-Thon, a fundraiser to benefit the nonprofit organization, encourages volunteers to engage friends and family in sponsoring their volunteer hours, with the goal to help eradicate substandard housing.

Habitat broke ground on the 2.5-acre La Fortuna site in the Cascade neighborhood, 12710 Southeast 173rd Street, in December 2010. The goal is to construct 41 homes on the property.

All are welcome to participate, and no construction skills necessary. Even volunteers who would rather fundraise than build the actual structures are invited to participate.

In addition to the fun and camaraderie of working toward a good cause, top volunteer fundraisers will be entered to win a slew of prizes including:  7 night vacation package at the WorldMark Resort of your choice, Restaurant certificate, a signed  Edgar Martinez baseball, golf packages, Xbox, a Seattle Seahawks fun pack, and more.
