Week 7 Football Recap

Lindbergh wins; Renton and Hazen lose.

Bainbridge Island 21, Hazen 20 (Non-League)

A blocked kick and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter gave Bainbridge Island the win over Hazen Thursday night at Renton Stadium. Hazen had led 14-7 at the half and scored on a Joe Glaefke one yard run.

The Bainbridge defense blocked the kick, which would later be a game saver after Bainbridge came from behind with two touchdowns. Quarterback Tony Nipert scored in the first quarter on a one yard run; the kick was no good. Mason Jacobs scored on a 10-yard run in the second quarter.

Hazen travels to Foster next Friday. The Highlanders will then host the Indians for the last regular season game.

Lindbergh 50, Highline 14

Daniel Wiitanen had four running touchdowns in the Eagles' win over the Pirates Friday night at Renton Stadium. Three of Wittanen's touchdowns came in the third quarter with scores from 5, 12, and 36 yards.

Cam Callen scored two touchdowns in the game, a 25-yard reception from  Tyrell Shavers. Another touchdown from six yards out. Shavers also scored a touchdown from two yards out.

The Eagles will host 3A Franklin next Thursday at 7 p.m. before taking on Kennedy Catholic, Thursday Oct. 25 at Highline Stadium. Both teams are the #1 seed entering the following weeks playoffs (Kennedy-3A, Lindbergh-2A). The winner will be crowned league champs.
