Three Hazen wrestlers won three matches today to give the Highlanders eight team points. Zach Moore (113), Jeremy Guilbert (195) and Justin Russell (220) each won consolation matches before losing their final match late this evening.

It was a tough morning for the 11 Renton area wrestlers at the Mat Classic as all 11 lost their opening round bouts. All 11 will move to the consolation bracket in a loser out bout beginning at 4 p.m.

Eleven high school wrestlers qualified for today's Mat Classic in the Tacoma Dome starting Friday. Hazen is sending a record eight wrestlers, Lindbergh has two and Renton with one according to wrestling brackets released by the WIAA Sunday afternoon.
This is the first time Hazen has had 2 wrestlers qualify for state at the same weight (160).
Lindbergh's Abby Chufar is the only girls wrestler in the tournament at 124 weight class.
