Party-Time: Seahawks 12K Registration Open, Sign-Up Session Monday

Registration is open for the 2013 Seahawks 12K Run and Glow 5K Run/Walk at The Landing in Renton April 21, with a discounted sign-up party at the Rock Wood-Fired Pizza (830 N. 10th Street) on Monday, March 25, at 4 p.m.

This year’s runs benefit Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll’s "A Better Seattle", a community campaign to raise awareness and funds for professionally trained street outreach workers in Seattle and South King County, in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Seattle and local municipalities.

The 12K ($35) is an out-and-back route that will start at The Landing, run north along the southeast shore of Lake Washington and offer participants a unique opportunity to run around the Seahawks’ training facility before turning back to run south along Lake Washington Boulevard and returning to finish at The Landing (see the attached map).

The 5K Run/Walk (30) route is a flat, fast 3.1-mile route that winds through The Landing then heads south into surrounding Renton neighborhoods.

There is also a Kids Play 60 Run ($10).

Participants get a tee-shirt, of course, and there will be a Root Sports Seahawks Spirit Contest for those attired appropriately -- jerseys, wigs, face paint, tutus, and other Seahawks gear  -- with an award for best costume.
