In 1976, the ownership group of the Seahawks paid $17 million to acquire an expansion franchise in the NFL. Today, the Seahawks are worth $1.04 billion, according to the annual team values from Forbes. And the Seahawks’ value, an increase of four percent from last year, ranks only 17th in the 32-team league.
The Cowboys are at No. 1 ($2.1 billion), followed by the Patriots ($1.635 billion), Redskins ($1.6 billion), Giants ($1.468 billion) and Texans ($1.305 billion). The Jaguars are ranked No. 32 ($770 million).
The Seahawks moved to Renton from Kirkland in August 2008 to their new home at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC), where the team's headquarters and training facility. The team's new state-of-the-art Renton facility, at an expansive 200,000 square feet and is the second-largest facility in the National Football League.
