Renton Girls Lose In Low Scoring Game 36-32

The Indians score just 16 first half points forcing Renton into a loser-out game on Saturday against Bremerton.

The Renton High School girls basketball team struggled to find the hoop Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the 2A West Central District tournament losing to Port Angeles, 36-32. The Indians (20-4) are one loss away from elimination.

Renton's Taylor Farris led all scorers with 18 points in the loss.

The Indians were held to just four third quarter points; that was the team's worst offensive quarter since Renton's first game against Holy Names this year, where they scored six points.

With five minutes left in the fourth quarter and the game tied up at 25, Port Angeles took control of the game and went on to win.

Port Angeles    5    10    6    15 --- 36
Renton             8     8     4    12 --- 32

Whats next?
Renton will play Bremerton (who lost to White River 64-33, Thursday) in a winner to 2A Regionals, loser out game, Saturday, 4:15 p.m. at Stadium High School in Tacoma.

If the Indians win they will represent District 3 as the fifth seed and play District 3 one seed, Friday February 22 at 8 p.m. at Kent-Meridian High School with the winner to Yakima.
