Renton Girls Capture First League Title Since 1987
Indians defeat Hazen 36-30 and secure number one seed
The Renton Indian girls basketball program (12-0 league, 13-4 overall) has accomplished one of its first goals of the season by winning their first Seamount League title since 1987 by beating Hazen (6-6 league, 7-10 overall) Thursday 36-30.
The Indians will face Kennedy Monday night in a make-up game from the snow. Kennedy had previously won 5 consecutive league titles from 2005-2010 and 1999-2003.
Shanease Kenner scored 12 points for the Indians. Hazen's Airashay Rogers scored 22 of Hazen's 30 points.
