Renton Boys And Girls Hoops Start Winter Break In Style

Indians 5-0, with girls ranked second and boys ranked ninth in 2A.

With just nine games under their belt, the Renton girls basketball team have found themselves undefeated in Seamount League play and 7-2 overall heading into the winter break.

The girls are ranked second, according to ScoreCzar Computer Ranking behind White River. The Indians will play two  non-league games in the Spanaway Lake Holiday Tournament over the break. The Indians are led by junior Taylor Farris who is avergaing 20.3 points a game, following by senior Jordan Armstrong with 8.9 points a game, half from downtown.

The Renton boys are also undefeated in league play and 8-0 overall. The boys will play in next week's Bellevue College Holiday Tournament, against Nathan Hale and other teams, December 27-29. Lavelle Smith and Jonathan Patterson are averaging 15.1 points a game each. The Indians are ranked fifth by the ScoreCzar Computer Ranking , behind top-ranked Lynden.

Lindbergh boys basketball is ranked 12th in the computer rankings, and will play in the Kennedy Catholic Holiday Tournament and Seattle Academy on January 3 before playing Renton at home on January 4. The Eagles are led by senior Colin Malone with 15.4 ppg.

Other top scorers for girls: Lindbergh Alexandria Witherspoon (senior) 10.3 ppg; no Hazen stats reported.
