Prep Roundup: Hazen Boys Capture 3A Subdistrict title

SPSL/Seamount 2A/3A Subdistrict Track and Field Day 2 Results (note not all 2A-Renton/Lindbergh results were posted to the website)

The Hazen boys track team won the 3A Subdistrict track meet Saturday at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner. The Highlanders scored 107 points in the two-day meet, beating Peninsula (101).

Freshman Kate Lilly won the girls 800 meter run (2:19.80)

Hazen’s 4x400 meter relay won (Mason Jacobs, Keith Beasley, Travis Lilly and Devin Nguyen) 3:29.04

Senior Spencer Shear won the boys pole vault 14-01 feet

Mason Jacobs won the long jump by a quarter of an inch (21-00.75) over teammate David Phan (21-00.50).

Lindbergh junior Trevonn Russell won the shot put 142.05 feet.

Lindbergh junior Aleisha Simpson won another title in the girls shot put 38-03.50.

Lindbergh senior Janayla Scott won the girls long jump (17-03.75), she also won the triple jump on Friday.

Lindbergh girls fastpitch lost its first game Friday in the 2A Subdistricts tournament to Sumner 8-3. The Eagles bounced back in their second against Orting, winning 12-11. The win placed the Eagles as the fifth seed entering next week’s West Central District tournament. They will play the Narrows League No. 2 seed on May 17 at 12 p.m. at Sprinkler Field in Spanaway. The game is a loser-out match.

Girls Triple Jump - Janayla Scott (Lindbergh) placed first 39.01.50 feet

Girls Pole Vault - Kaitlin Zinsli (Lindbergh) placed first (11-09.00 feet)

Girls Javelin - Aleisha Simpson (Lindbergh) placed first (114-06 feet)

Girls 4x100 relay - Lindbergh has the fastest prelim time.
