Metro Transit Kicks Off Football Season Saturday With Seahawks Shuttles

Renton fans can take the 101 downtown or ride Light Rail from Tukwila to game

King County Metro Transit has special shuttles to take football fans to the Seattle Seahawks' first preseason game Saturday, Aug. 11.

The non-stop shuttles leave the Eastgate Park-and-Ride, Northgate Transit Center, and South Kirkland Park-and-Ride beginning two hours before kick-off. Each shuttle will leave as it is filled. The last shuttle leaves for the game about 35 minutes before kickoff. All pre-game shuttles arrive near CenturyLink Field northbound on Fifth Avenue South at South Weller Street.

Fans can still park at the South Renton Park and Ride or the Renton Transit Center and catch the 101 bus. It makes a couple stops in Skyway, S Spokane Street and the International District, arriving at the stadium within 30 minutes. Buses leave the park and ride or transit center within 25-30 minutes depending on the day.

A cash-only exact fare of $4 one way or $8 round trip per person is required. No passes or transfers are accepted.

Buses returning to Eastgate and South Kirkland leave on southbound Fifth Avenue South at South Weller Street, and the Northgate shuttle leaves northbound on Fifth Avenue South from just north of South Weller Street.

Shuttles are not available for the team’s weeknight games on Thursday, Aug. 30, and Monday, Sept. 24.

All travelers in the SODO, Pioneer Square and downtown Seattle areas can expect traffic congestion and delays before and after Seahawks games and other Stadium events.
