Lindbergh Rolls Past Marysville-Getchell 40-0

Eagles' defense scores 20 unanswered points.

Lindbergh Football coach Pat O’Grady told his Eagles what a nice job the team did to get the ‘W’ against Marysville-Getchell in a 40-0 nonleague game Thursday night at Renton Stadium.

“The defense did an outstanding job by control their line,” says O’Grady. “The defense accounted for half of the team's 40 total points.” As for the offense, O’Grady told the team in a post-game huddle its needs to refocus its energy before next week’s game against 2A powerhouse Chehalis.

The Eagles’ points were scored by six different players including Daniel Wiitanen (61-yard touchdown reception from Matt Stuart, with point after kick by Derrick Holt); Cameron Callen (31-yard touchdown run, point after was fumbled); Craig Yamaguchi (44-yard touchdown reception from Matt Stuart, with point after kick by Derrick Holt); Joe Simpson (44-yard touchdown interception, with point after kick by Derrick Holt).

In the second half, Forrest Boissonneau had a 34-yard fumble return, with point after by Derrick Holt; and Jayde Wiitanen with a 20-yard touchdown interception.

The Just Play Fair award was given to Lindbergh’s Calebse Cange as part of the state's sportsmanship program.
