The Lindbergh baseball team bounced back after losing back-to-back games (first losses of the season) Saturday by beating Franklin Pierce 8-0 behind pitcher Matt Stuart.
The Eagles needed three straight wins to advance to the state tournament, they came up short in the second game losing to North Kitsap 9-1, eliminating their chances.
Stuart nearly pitches a perfect game against Franklin Pierce, walking only 1 batter in the fourth inning, striking out 11 in 7 innings. Stuart also collected four hits, including two doubles and drove in four runs.
In the second game Lindbergh's only run came in the buttom of the first when Derrick Holt doubled and scored on Tyler Gould's single.The Eagles finish the season 16-3 overall and undefeated in the Seamount League at 14-0.
