Hazen Boys Soccer Stays Atop League With 5-1 Win
Captain Sam Bunnell scores two goals and three assists in win
Hazen boys soccer team remains atop the Seamount League standings with their 5-1 win over Highline Tuesday night at Highline Stadium
Senior Captain Sam Bunnell scored two goals and had three assists for Hazen (8-0-2 26 points). Hazen Head Coach Ken Matthews felt a little nervous before the match as Highline tied the Highlanders earlier in the season. “For some reason, every game we play with Highline – boys and girls – is a battle. They played well against in the first game. Then Highline scores in, what, the opening 40 seconds,” said Matthews.
It took twenty minutes for Hazen to get back into the game. Senior Marcelo Castro assisted on Bunnell’s first goal and Bunnell returned the favor assisting Castro eight minutes later for a 2-1 lead at the half.

The Highlanders have only allowed five goals so far this season.
