Girls Basketball Preview: Renton Eyes State Berth

Indians hope for a ticket to the state tournament in Yakima.

Renton girls basketball coach Tim White had little to say following last year's 2A Regional loss to W.F. West. This year White and the Renton girls basketball are talking up a storm and so far this season have upset some top-teams, including seventh ranked Holy Names (3A) and Eastlake (4A).

Renton (18-7 last year) returns junior guard Taylor Farris, senior guard Jordan Armstrong, senior forward Ashtine Stowers and senior center Justice Perry.

Newcomers include Kiara Houston (Guard, Junior), Natajia Mc Millan (Guard, Sophomore), Alisha Stowers (Center, Junior).

Renton is playing in a holiday tournament during the winter break and two key games against Kennedy Catholic on January 11 at Renton and February 1 at Kennedy Catholic.
