Five Renton Area Basketball Players to Play In Elite Game

Renton Head Coach Rick Comer to coach against his team Friday

Renton boys basketball coach Rick Comer will coach against his players on Friday during the Cloud 9 South Sound All-Star Basketball Classic Auburn High School on March 22.

Comer will coach the Nisqually All-Stars against the Seamount All-Stars at 4 p.m.

Lindbergh's Colin Malone who has verbally committed to play basketball at Centralia Community College will join Renton's Johnathan Patterson, Lavelle Smith, Donavan Saario and Justin Pienh.

The Indians are coming off a fifth place finish at state earlier this month. This match-up provides the four including Malone another chance to show their stuff as college recruits from around Washington and beyond come to watch.

The Seamount All-Stars will don orange under Cedar Park Christian head coach Adam Lynch.

No Hazen players were selected for the game.

Comer will coach two of the tallest players in the classic. Sharn Spencer of Cascade Christian is 6'9" (17 PPG, 13 RPG) and Evan Scholten of Cedar Park Christian who is 6'7" (14 PPG, 10 RPG).

Admission is $8 at the door

• 7 – 3A Narrows All-Stars vs. 4A Narrows All-Stars
