3rd Annual Fly Fishing Restoration Event

The art and sport of fly fishing requires a knowledge and passion of river ecology and proactive conservation.  Join Friends of the Cedar River Watershed and King County Parks for a volunteer project to restore riparian habitat on the Cedar River followed by FREE fly fishing workshops and lessons for all skill levels.

Fly Fishing Workshops and Activities include:

  • Fly Fishing one-on-one instruction, including casting and tying demos.  Extra equipment will be available for beginners!
  • Guest speakers include:

Tim Beechie, Research Fish Biologist from NOAA, will give a presentation on habitat requirements for Steelhead Trout

Jean White, WRIA 8 Watershed Coordinator, Salmon Recovery Council, to highlight efforts on the Cedar River

  • Emerald Water Anglers will provide spey-rod casting demos
  • Aquatic Insect Identification labs
  • Volunteers will also enjoy coffee thanks to Starbucks and complementary lunch of smoked salmon, salads, and sandwiches.
