Community Spotlight – CVAC Baseball Championships
Bronco Athletics and Mustang Angels capture titles
The Bronco Athletics held rival Rockies to one hit and one run in their 7-1 win in the Cascade Vista Athletic Club Bronco Championship game at Tiffany Park Elementary Saturday. Led by Chance Johnson who went 3-for-3 including a third inning home run and pitched a near shutout for four innings.
The Athletics had 12 hits to the Rockies one which came in the third inning by Nito Loma-Arrayales. The Rockies only score of the game came in the fourth inning when Bryson Nelson hit a ball past Johnson to score Riley Sugui on a sacrifice.
Michael Bray also went 3-for-3 for the Athletics.

In the Mustang Championship game at CVAC Field, the Mustang Angels had to comeback from a 6-2 to win their championship 17-7 in five innings against the Mustang Red Sox. The game ended when Jamiel Taylor hit an infield single scoring Kai Nakamura from third base giving the Angels a 10-run led.
Michael Johnson went 3-for-3 at the plate and struck out six Red Sox (total of 11 in the game). The Angels had 15 hits in the game, including a home run by Covaughn Jeffrey in the third and two hits each from Jordan Castillo, Parker Duncan and Jamiel Taylor.
