This Week In Prep Sports: Football & Soccer League Championships

Football, Soccer, Cross Country, Volleyball Swimming and Diving competitions slated through Saturday.

If there was one week to attend a high school sporting event, this is it. With the end to the regular season this week in many sports, playoffs are on the line, including seeding.

TUESDAY, Oct. 23

  • Seamount League Girls Soccer Championship - Hazen vs Kennedy Catholic at Starfire Sports (Tukwila), 6 p.m. (Winner plays Oct 31 at home against Bonney Lake; loser plays October 31 at Sunset Chev Stadium at 5:30 p.m. in 3A Subdistrict playoffs.
  • Girls Soccer - Lindbergh  plays Renton at Renton Stadium, 6 p.m. (Winner secures #1 seed, losing is #2 seed.)
  • Volleyball - Renton at Evergreen (tie-breaker), 7 p.m.

THURSDAY, Oct. 25

  • Seamount League Football Championship Game - Lindbergh vs Kennedy Catholic at Highline Stadium, 7 p.m. (Kennedy Catholic is the #1 seed in 3A, Lindbergh is the #1 seed in 2A. Lindbergh will host a playoff game against the South Puget Sound League #4 seed; three way tie. Kennedy Catholic who will host a playoff game awaits the Wesco playoffs seeding results to find out who they will play.
  • Girls Soccer - Lindbergh vs Highline at Highline Stadium, 3:30 p.m.; Kennedy Catholic vs Renton at Renton Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, Oct. 26

  • Football - Renton vs Hazen at Renton Stadium, 7 p.m. (Hazen is the #2 seed for 3A, the Highlanders will play the team the loser of the Wesco League Championship either Glacier Peak or Marysville-Pilchuck.  Renton is the #2 seed for 2A and travels to Bremerton.)
  • Swimming/Diving - Seamount League Championships at Hazen, 4:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, Oct. 27

  • Cross Country - Westside Classic at American Lake Golf Course 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Swimming/Diving - Seamount League Championships at Hazen, 5 p.m.
  • 2A/3A Subdistrict Volleyball - Lindbergh vs Steilacoom/White River/Franklin Pierce, 9 a.m.; Hazen vs Peninsula/Lakes at Franklin Pierce, 4 p.m.
