Boys Basketball Preview: Lindbergh Hungry For Another State Run

Senior forward Colin Malone looks to lead team in points scored.

The Lindbergh boys basketball team is hungry after getting a taste of what it takes to make the 2A state basketball tournament. Without last year’s starter Jimmy Keum, the Eagles return five high caliber players and have several new players to give the team deep and size. Something Head Coach Robert Graham said they didn’t have last year.

Led by senior forward Colin Malone who averged 9.8 points a game last, will become the Eagle's lead scorer. In the first three reported games, he is averaging 18 points.

Other returns include, senior guard Austin Franklin, sophomore guard Brandon Brown, senior center Chris Hardaway and junior guard Nate Cunningham. Newcomers Cam Callen (senior guard) and Connor O'Hearn (freshman guard).

“I feel we should finish near the top. This team is deeper at all positions this year. Young but hungry. We will have more sizes this year,” said coach Graham. “Jimmy Kerum will be missed. But these guys are ready to step up.”

Lindbergh’s winter break tournament at Kennedy along with games against Renton and Evergreen will be key heading into the West Central District.
