Boys Basketball: Bigger, Stronger Lynden Dominates Renton, 64-41

Renton finished in 5th place with a 24-4 overall record.

It was the match-up everyone had picked between Renton and Lynden, yet it wasn't the place either team was hoping to be playing for Saturday afternoon at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

Lynden, the defending state champions, found themselves licking their wounds after losing to Anacortes, 52-44. Meanwhile, Renton lost to Pullman, 51-41, on Friday.

Renton continued to struggle on offense only shooting 25.4 percent from the field and 4/18 (22.2 percent) from the 3-point line. Lynden had a 35-16 halftime lead and continued its offensive attack and defensive rebounds to give Renton its fourth and final loss of the season, 64-41. The Indians finished fifth in the state 2A consolation game.
