Basketball Playoff Picture Becoming Clearer
Two weeks until the 2A/3A Sub-Districts; Renton girls can capture league title with win or Kennedy loss on Friday.
With two weeks left in the Seamount League regular season, Renton schools appear to be heading toward post season play.
The surprise this year has been the Renton Indians girls who are on their way to the first league title since 1987. Taylor Farris, Jordan Armstrong and Shanese Kenner are the driving force to the Indian's success. Farris averages 13.2 points a game, Armstrong 11.2 and Shanese Kenner 10.2. The Indians are also playing some of the most aggressive basketball forcing turnovers against their opponents. With the number one seed in the league, the Indians will face their first challenge in the 2A Sub-District Tournament by facing off with either Eatonville or third-ranked White River (currently both teams are tied in the 2A SPSL).
Overall, all three schools (boys and girls) will play in the Sub-District tournment Feb 9-11. (Seeding is determined by the number of wins against 3A/4A schools and 1A/2A schools within the league; then divided by the number of games played).
