Winner advances to quarterfinals against Fife/Squalicum winner.

The Seamount League champion Lindbergh Eagles take on the Greater St. Helens League champion Hockinson Hawks in the first round of the 2A state girls soccer championships on Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Renton Memorial Stadium.

The Eagles are led by senior and top scorer Elise Alyward (32 goals, 12 assists) and junior Lindsey Pfluger (15 goals, 8 assists). Lindbergh is coming off Saturday's 3-1 win over Orting where Alyward scored two goals.

Hockinson, who lost its opening district match to Tumwater, had to play four matches in seven days to make state with a 4-2 win over Black Hills. The Hawks are led by Kavita Battan, Aurora Bodenhammer and Rylee Seekings. All three are playing through injuries.
