Two Renton High School Juniors Prepare for International Work Promoting Education

Renton High School juniors Kim-Dung Nguyen and Adji Adam MBaye, both 17, and their teacher, Robert Conway, will travel to Nicaragua this summer through the program BuildOn to build schools to ensure girls have access to an education.

The Renton School District shared the following good news Tuesday:

American teenagers are in the middle of undertaking the rite of passage of looking for jobs this summer at fast food restaurants, clothing shops, the mall. But some teens, like those at Renton High School, are taking on a global task: building schools in impoverished countries to ensure girls have access to an education.

Two Renton High School juniors, Kim-Dung Nguyen and Adji Adam MBaye, both 17, and their teacher, Robert Conway (pictured), will travel to Nicaragua this summer through the program BuildOn to build schools to ensure girls have access to an education. The teens will stay with host families allowing them to learn about life in another country, while also sharing what America has to offer.
