Study Maybe? Nelsen Teachers Take Study Hall To New Heights

Nelsen Middle School teachers create a parody of the pop song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, rewording the lyrics as a message of encouragement to their students to study.

Renton's Nelsen Middle School teachers are as hip as they come.

In an effort to play off pop culture and engage their students, a group of teachers re-wrote the lyrics to Carly Rae Jepson's hit song "Call Me Maybe."

What got you to study as a middle and high school student? Did your parents lay down the law and ingrain good study habits during elementary school? Did you set goals? Were you wrestled into study hall, grounded, or just trying to keep up your grades to stay on the sports team?

Parents: How do you get your children to study? Please share your tips in the comments and forward this video on to your friends!

Love that the teachers put this together! I remember some great junior high and high school teachers (yes, eons ago) who engaged us because they just knew how to connect and make learning fun. My world history teacher told us stories, sometimes acting them out, to help us realize the people we were reading about were real people. Thanks, Mr. Galarneault!

Thank you for letting me know. I do most of my work from the computer, so I assumed it was visible on all formats. I'll drop a note to our engineering team to let them know that video does not play on mobile devices. In the meantime, you can view the video on YouTube.com, here: http://youtu.be/hRXei8Zd_UI
