Share: Gratitude for Superintendents' Service in Renton Schools

With Vera Risdon and Dr. Mary Alice Heuschel having served 47 years and 7 years in the Renton School District, respectively, share some well wishes and lessons learned from working with or studying under these two women.

A note from Friends of Renton Schools last week provided a reminder that with the close of this school year, the district is also turning a corner under new leadership.

Interim Superintendent Vera Risdon has just about completed her appointment to serve the remaining months of the 2012-13 school year due to former Superintendent Dr. Mary Alice Heuschel's appointment as Gov. Jay Inslee's Chief of Staff late last year.

Dr. Merri Rieger, formerly the chief student achievement officer in the Kent School District, is set to take over beginning July 1.

Share: With Risdon and Heuschel having served 47 years and 7 years in the Renton School District, respectively, now is as good a time as any to share some well wishes and lessons learned from working with or studying under these two women. At the same time, what's one tip you'd share with Dr. Rieger about working in Renton? Tell us in the comments.
