Renton Schools Holds Open House Thursday on Design for New Middle School

The Renton School District and NAC Architecture are presenting schematic designs for the district's newest middle school at an open house this Thursday, July 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Renton Academy.

According to the district's Facebook page, voters approved the new school in the April 2012 school construction bond measure, which will be built at the current Renton Academy site beginning in 2014.

The site was formerly the old Hazelwood Elementary School. The new school will be the district's fourth middle school and according to a district press release announcing the project timeline, officials aim to open the new school in September 2016.

Renton Academy is located at 6928 116th Avenue SE, Newcastle.
