Renton Memorial Stadium Construction Continues, Will Not Affect Spring Sports

The Renton Memorial Stadium construction is on time and on budget, and construction should not interfere with the spring sports schedule

A steady pace of construction continues at the Renton Memorial Stadium, but the good news is that it is on time and on budget.

"The Renton Memorial Stadium remodel was part of the district’s 2008 School Construction Bond measure that voters approved in May 2008," said Randy Matheson spokesperson.

Also included in the bond measure that passed was a new 10-classroom wing at , a new Secondary Learning Center at the Black River campus, a new Early Childhood Learning Center, a new roof and window replacements at , and many other needed projects.

The first phase of the project included resurfacing the track and field surfaces which were badly in need of repairs.  Those were completed in summer, 2009.

The current construction work includes renovating seating in the stands, and revamping the concession area.

The upgrades to the stadium and bleachers will not hamper visitors and athletes coming to the stadium.

The main entrance is currently closed, but the visitors entrance (on the north side) is open.

Visitors are asked to park and enter on the north side, and parking is still available in the south lot.
