It's scholarship season again and Renton Community Foundation plans to award over $30,000 to worthy students this year. Awards will be made from the Helen Dyrdal Scholarship Fund, which is open to college undergraduates, graduates, and students pursuing a certificate program at either a trade school or community college.

In addition, special needs students will have a chance at winning an award from the Jeremy Gidlund Memorial Scholarship Fund, and a student pursuing a career in communications or journalism could win an award from the Carl & Betty Rochet Scholarship Fund.

All applicants must have either graduated from a Renton high school and/or be a Renton resident and demonstrate a financial need. Deadline for all applications is April 2.
