The Renton Indians were able to draw from Foster's mistakes and turnovers to win their Seamount League opener Friday night at Renton Stadium 18-8.
Foster punter Kevin Ulloa found himself scrambling for a loose ball after he received a high snap. The ball ended up in the back of the end zone to give the Indians a 2-0 lead at the half. Renton's defense was the story of the game, forcing the Bulldogs in several four and out plays.
Foster scored in the third when quarterback Cody Anderson ran in for a 33-yard touchdown. They tied the game at 8 with a two-point conversion.
Renton limited its potential on offense with several penalties, giving up good plays by quarterback Da'Ssaun Sauls and running back Ernie Davis. The junior quarterback threw for 210 yards passing on 11 of 16 completions.
Byron Sui had 132 yards of receiving on the night.
Sauls connected with Davis in the third quarter from 60 yards out. Sauls scored a touchdown in the fourth from seven yards out and Uriel Gonzalez added a 22-yard field goal.
"This was sweet revenge, since Foster has beaten us twice in a row," said head coach Donald Ponds. "It's frustrating to let penalties happen and give up the big plays." Ponds said the offense needs to work on a rhythm to move the ball without penalties giving up the yards.
Renton (1-0, 2-1) travels next Saturday to Lakeside (1-2) at 2 p.m.

Lindbergh 47, Evergreen 14 (Thursday)
Quarterback Tyrell Shavers may be looking to rewrite the record book after Thursday night's game against Evergreen. Shaver threw for five touchdowns and ran for another to give the Eagles their first league win of the season.
Lindbergh scored three touchdowns in the first quarter thanks to Daniel Wiitanen's 36-yard punt return, his 91-yard pass reception from Shavers and Cam Callen's 12-yard reception from Shavers.
Callen and Shavers hooked up again for a 62-yard touchdown reception. Shavers also threw two touchdown passes to Derrick Holt from 3 and 39 yards out. Holt was also 5 of 7 for point-after attempts.
Shavers scored in the third quarter from one yard out. Lindbergh (1-0, 2-0) plays Hazen next Friday at 7 p.m. as part of the Tracey Trophy (All-City Championship).
