New Renton Schools Superintendent Sworn in Wednesday
Dr. Merri Rieger began in her new role on July 1.
Though she started her position as superintendent of Renton Schools on July 1, it took more than two weeks before Dr. Merri Rieger was able to find the time to attend her official swearing in ceremony at this past Wednesday's meeting of the Renton School Board.
The District shared a photo from the event on its Facebook page this week.
Rieger told the Renton Reporter she's using her time this summer to listen and learn about the District, making rounds to meet with various staff and setting out to also touch in with community members.
Things won't change much under her administration, at least in the beginning, as Rieger said she expects early 2014 would be the earliest that she'd look into implementing any new plans for the District, according to the Reporter.
