Lindbergh Boys Capture Sub-District XC Title
Westside Classic a warm-up to state championship.
The Lindbergh Boys Cross Country team added another title to its belt Saturday on their way to the Class 2A State Cross Country Championships on Nov. 5 in Pasco.
The Eagles won the 2A Sub-District meet at Fort Steilacoom State Park in Lakewood. The boys’ junior varsity group also placed first in their race. The Lindbergh girls placed second behind Bellevue’s Interlake.
Luke Garcia led the top-ranked Lindbergh boys with a second-place finish (16:10.3), brother Mark Garcia finished fourth (16:33.7). Teammates Nathan Haley placed sixth (16:47.0) and Travis Downen placed seventh (16:47.5). Colton Maddy won the junior varsity race (17:41.8).

Hazen’s top boys’ finisher was Daniel Karpman placing seventh (16:43.1). The top Renton runner was Aslan DaVault placing ninth (16:52.8).
Sarah Reiter lead the Lindbergh girls with a fifth-place finish (19.14.4), Anna Patti placed seventh (19:27.8) and Jasmine Fallgreen placed ninth (20:14.8).

The top Renton finisher was Joy Barnes who placed 11th (20.25.5). The top Hazen girls’ finisher was freshman Kristen Ericksen placing 25th (21.30.9).
Next weekend (Oct. 29) all three schools will run in the West Side Classic at American Lake Golf Course in Lakewood, a preview to the State Cross Country Championships in Pasco. (Nov 5).
