Lindbergh Boys And Girls Capture League XC Titles

Luke Garcia and Sarah Reiter win individual titles.

In the last dual meet of the Seamount League Cross Country season, the Lindbergh Eagles continue to dominate the league by capturing both the boys and girls league championships Saturday at Evergreen High School.

“We continue toward the peak of our training,” said Eagles Head Coach Jef Rettmann. The boys are currently ranked first and the girls ranked seventh in the 2A Coaches Cross Country Poll this week. “We are getting better and not taking races for granted, we know we can qualify for state,” said.

Lindbergh seniors Luke Garcia and Mohamud Abdi battled the entire 3.1 mile course until the very end with Garcia edging out Abdi at the finish line to capture an individual title (16:49.32 to 16:49.78). Teammate Mark Garcia placed third (17:02.38) and Renton’s Aslan DaVault placed fourth (17:17.24). Hazen’s top finisher was Conner Hall in seventh (17:27.46). Overall, Lindbergh’s top-five runners placed in the top eight while Renton’s top-five runners placed in the Top 21.
