Hazen And Lindbergh Soccer Advance; Renton Out

Highlanders end in shootout over Auburn Mountainview

The Hazen (11-2-5) girls soccer team needed extra time Wednesday night to defeat Auburn Mountainview at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood. The Highlanders won 1-0 with a 4-3 outshoot victory, they move on in the 3A West Central District tournament. They play Kelso on Saturday at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner at 1 p.m. If they win they advance to the first round of the 3A state tournament as the 3rd seed.

Lindbergh (12-5-0) shutout Franklin Pierce 3-0 with goals by Audrey Cunningham (un), Lindsey Pfluger assisted by Jordyn McLuen, Whitney Hilde assisted by Jordyn McLuen, Lindsey Pfluger assisted by Whitney Hilde. Lindbergh plays against North Kitsap at North Kitsap Stadium in the 2A West Central District tournament Saturday at 3 p.m. A win and the Eagles will qualify for the 2A state tournament as the District’s fifth seed.

The Renton girls’ team (3-7-2) was shutout Wednesday night against Eatonville at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner. Renton was eliminated from the tournament.
